This quilt is one I had a lot of enjoyment making as a Christmas gift for my nephew Jason’s youngest child, Violet, who was just 3 1/2 months old.
This fun quilt was made from an “A B C” panel that I cut into individual squares. I then put sashing around each square using “stash fabric” and put it back together in a similar fashion as it was in the panel. Adding the final green border really set it off and made the whole quilt stand out. The backing was done using gray “Minky Dot” fabric we found at M & L Fabric in Buena Park.
I quilted it using the “abc123” pattern by Vickie Malaski, Designs by Vickie, with Joseph’s Coat variegated thread from Superior Threads King Tut collection. The batting was Hobbs 80/20, and it ended up being approximately 38″ x 56″. Hopefully this will keep her nice & warm on those colds nights.
