Here is a GREAT way to keep memories alive . . . . . . a memory quilt. This just one example of a memory quilt made from T-shirts. They can be made from T-shirts, photos, other types of clothing, or any combination of these.
This is a T-shirt quilt made by one of our newer clients in a class Julie taught at The Quilt Cupboard in 2013. Cynthia said she made it for a man who liked “music” and loved to read. She used 31 T-shirts cut to be 14″ squares finished. She also had 4 blocks of music fabric also cut to be 14″ squares when finished. The backing is made from the most absolutely beautiful “book” fabric.
The quilt measures a total of approx 70″ x 98″ and was quilted using a Square Meandering pattern from Patterns by Deb, with Steel Blue Omni thread. The batting is Hobbs 80/20, which is 80% cotton and 20% polyester, that we prefer and provide.
Memory Quilts are wonderful gifts to have and lots of fun to make.
