Quilt of the Month for June 2013

100 Years – 100 Stars

This beautiful quilt was brought to us by another one of our very talented clients.

“I am a Native Arizonian, and when I saw the pattern for “100 Stars” quilt, I fell in love with it !   The quilt design celebrates the Arizona Centennial,  100 Years – 100 Stars. All proceeds from the sale of the pattern will benefit women and children at risk.

I used 50 shirtings 3 1/4   x 22 and Reproductive fabric 100 strips 3 1/4 x 10 1/2.  I added sashing strips between each 4 1/2 unfinished block as well as an alternating row of sashing rectangles and scrappy cornerstones.  I also added a 5 1/2″ border using Reproductive fabric.”

The quilt measures 65 x 65 and was quilted using a Swirl Border pattern edge to edge with Steel Blue Omni thread.

  1. like I’m ready to tackle an acuatl quilt. My first machine quilting adventure will be the wonky cross quilt I’m making for my friend’s baby shower. I’ll let you know how it goes. Pin it

  2. I just got my first 2 Oliver & S patterns (Sunday Brunch & Birthday Party) in the mail the other day. They are so poireucs. I told myself I wouldn’t jinx future baby plans by buying any little girl things. BUT I JUST COULDN’T HELP MYSELF! I was wistfully following the Ice Cream Social sew along and caved. Now that I own 2, I want them all.Baby #3 will most likely be another sweet boy. So I should probably start buying the boy patterns.
