Monster Quilt
Here is a question that ALL quilters have asked themselves at one time or another, and some – several times. “What to do with all these scraps ?” Make a Scrappy Quilt ! ! This is one that Julie made using the I SPY pattern by Country Faces, Quilting Design by Myra Mahy. We saw this one on display at Rosie’s Quilt Shop in El Cajon, Ca. during the So Cal Quilter’s Run last year.
We had to search high and low for the black, white and red fabric (with the faces on it) and was finally able to order it on line. The predominate black and white fabric makes the red accents in it really pop out. The various squares throughout the quilt were from her “stash of fabric” that seemed to get bigger, not smaller, while she made this one. The inside sashing fabric was a combination of fabric from The Quilt Cupboard in Garden Grove, Ca. and M & L Fabric in Buena Park, Ca.
It measures 64″ x 81″ and was quilted using the Too Much Bubbly pattern by Anne Bright. It was done in 4 rows and 4 repeats using Riverbank variegated thread by King Tut with Hobbs 80/20 Bleached White batting in the middle.
