This month we are featuring a beautiful quilt made by Marilyn, one of our new clients. She claims to be a “beginner quilter”, but you couldn’t tell it by the fabulous quilt tops she has brought us to quilt for her. This Sea Life quilt was a pleasure to do.
I took my first quilting class 18 months ago inspired by my mother. I saw this kit for sale in my favorite Sew Vac store (in Long Beach) and knew immediately I wanted to make it for my awesome grandson for his 10th birthday. I’m feeling more confident as a quilter and made my design a little different from the original and loved the way it turned out. This is my first completed quilting project and thanks to Paul and Julie’s help it looks great. I’m currently working on at least 3 other projects and can’t wait to give those away as gifts too.
This quilt measures 51″ x 62″ and was quilted with a dolphin pattern using King Tut’s De Nile variegated thread by Superior. She also used Warm & Natural batting.
We can’t wait to see what beautiful project she brings us next.
