QUILT OF THE MONTH MAY 2015 - J&P Long Arm Quilters

This was a VERY cute puppy quilt brought to us by Diane, one of our clients. Seeing it after being quilted, I had to feature it as a Quilt of the Month ! This is what she had to say about it.

I set a goal to make a baby quilt for each grandchild as they came along. I was in the new Wal Mart and believe it or not I saw this cute dog fabric for only around $3.00 a yard and bought it waiting for the next grandchild.

Little Grant came along and so I got to work with the dog fabric. I used the Quilts for Baby book by Ursula Reikes and chose the One Patch pattern so you could get a good view of the dog fabric.

My favorites of the coordinating fabric is the blue with the dog prints on it. The dog print is a little busy so I tried to keep the other fabrics simple. I love putting the tops together. I also love the way J & P Quilters quilted it with the dog paw prints, the quilting is perfect for the quilt.

By the way, J & P Quilters has quilted 3 out of the five baby quilts for me. (Didn’t know about their business for the first two!) And also by the way, all of the grandchildren are boys!

This Puppy Quilt measures about 39″ square. Using Hobbs 80/20 batting, it was quilted in a Dog Paws pattern from Vickie Malaski, Patterns by Vickie, using Perma-Core China Blue thread.
