Once again, I had to make the tough choice. “Which of all the fantastic quilts our clients bring us do I feature in this month’s Quilt of the Month” ? This time I chose one made by our dear friend Nancy. Here is what she had to say about her beautiful Churn Dash blocks quilt.
Three years ago I made nine churn dash blocks with all the excitement and challenge in me to design a quilt.
Three years later and having completed so many other beautiful projects, I decided it was time to put this particular one to bed!
I’m not sure what the delay was but every so often I could hear those blocks calling to me to please put us together. So I did and what fun it turned out to be! All I had to do was add the lattice and borders and it was completed.
As I am sitting here now sewing on the binding, I am pondering my next project…which is to put the finishing touch on another 12 blocks from four years ago!
This quilt measured approx 66″ x 52″ and was quilted in Omni‘s Whisper Green thread using the Deb’s Feathers pattern from Debra Geissler‘s Patterns By Deb. We used Hobbs 80/20 batting that we carry.
